Business support for micro enterprises
Aid is available both to help start new businesses and grow existing ones. A micro enterprise is defined as one that employs less than 10 people and turns over less than €2m annually.
Eligible Activities include:-
- retailing, manufacturing or service industries, including self-made products, recreation, equestrian and creative industries
- environmental services, including the traditional trades required to maintain and enhance the landscape
- renewable energy (planting support and forestry processing activity eligible under separate measures are not eligible here)
Eligible Costs:-
- grant aid towards the costs of capital investment
- start-up revenue costs
- market research and feasibility studies
- marketing support, product development, branding and design costs
- technical support to help new businessses and social enterprises become established and to help existing businesses and social enterprises to consolidate and expand.
Outputs - we will expect eligible grant recipients to achieve the following:-
- Number of micro-enterprises supported
- Number of jobs created (at approximately the rate of £15,000 grant per job)
- Increase in profitability
