Rural Broadband (Euroopean Economic Recovery Plan

emda is launching the Rural Broadband Fund, funded through the Rural Development Programme for England (2007-2013).  This fund seeks to support the government’s objective that Britain has the best superfast broadband network in Europe.

The funding can contribute towards developing innovative approaches that address existing gaps in rural broadband coverage. These approaches can include:

The closing date for Expressions of Interest for the Rural Broadband Fund is the 13th September 2010.

Who can apply?

Farmers/Land Based Businesses
Funding will support farm diversification projects that keep vital services, skills, and money within the rural economy. 

Rural Micro-Business
Funding will support your set up and growth.  A micro-business is an enterprise with less than 10 employees and less than two million Euros annual turnover.

Communities
Funding will support schemes to broaden community involvement within the natural and cultural heritage and tourism sectors,
